In Maybe I Am The Problem, Yael explores the consequences of becoming estranged from one’s own past—the unsettling feeling of no longer recognizing yourself in images of your younger self. What happens to your identity when memories clash with their visual representations? How does this affect your relationship with the past, with yourself, and with the people you care about?
Through a mix of personal archive footage and text, Maybe I’m the Problem reveals that sometimes there are no clear answers—only the confrontation with a past that doesn’t always align with our memories.
